| THE BOOK: WHY I WROTE THE NOVEL |
Dear Readers,
When I sat down to write BY REASON OF PASSION, I had one aim, to tell the story of two lovers whose differences destroy their love. Novels, as life, evolve. The characters decided I weave domestic violence in its fabric.
How does the book address romance in light of its topic? Well, domestic violence rarely becomes evident at the beginning of a relationship. I do not excuse the act: the novel speaks for itself. I, however, do accent factors that contribute to this epidemic. Domestic violence, in spite of its importance in this novel, is subject to love, the greatest motivator to make all things right.
Since the novel had evolved, I had to study domestic violence in terms of the perpetrators. Who are they? Rich? Poor? Intellectuals? Uneducated? What is their ethnicity, their age and so forth? These are questions that, withthout me realizing it, embeded themselves in the story, and enriched it, while it focused on a great love.
Writing this bool was a catalyst in my interest in domestic violence. With this in mind, then, I'm working hard to get BY REASON OF PASSION published. Stay tune, and support the book when it finds a home. In turn, I promise to keep everyone informed of how my misison develops.
Meanwhile, sit down for a spell and read the summary, and Chapter 1 (PDF), now also on-line), of this contemporary romance.
Enjoy, and thank you for your visit!
